NOTHING IS TOO HIGH TO REACH

"Tiara Sheva really obsesses to study abroad, go traveling abroad, and marry American / European guy. *study harder, work harder, and find a lot of experiences are MUST* "
That's my latest status on facebook account last night. Those are my great dreams and ambitions in my life that I want to realize. Actually those three dreams are related each other. I'll tell you about them one by one.

First, I want to study abroad. As you know, I'm in English Education Study Program and I'll study English in Sanata Dharma for about 3 more years ahead. I'm sure I'll get many progress in my English skills such as writing, reading, speaking while I'm studying here. However English is not mother tongue in Indonesia. Most people mostly speak Indonesian, so I seldom speak English in daily life. I think my English speaking skill will be in excellent progress if I live in country where English become its mother tongue. Well, based on the case in my opinion America and England are best for education and improving English speaking skill. Hopefully I could be a lecturer first and then get my mastery abroad. ^^

Second, I really want to go traveling some day. I want to go around the world, especially Europe and America. MILAN is my dream land. I wish I could be there one day and watch Derby Della Madonnina between my favorite football club AC Milan and the club I hate Inter Milan directly. It must be pretty amazing to see my favorite club contends directly. ^^ Related to my first dream, I consider that if I could study abroad it means that I could traveling too.

Then my third dream is getting married to American or European guy. I actually have dreamed it for a long time since I was in senior high school. I don't know exactly the reason why I really want to marry foreigner. One thing I feel when I meet tourists, especially from America or European is amazed. I'm always amazed with them. In addition, when I see Indonesian woman who's married to foreigner on street or on TV, I always imagine and ask myself if I could like her one day. I also think that if I could marry foreigner, my son or daughter must be beautiful or handsome. ^^

Well the point of my dreams is if my dream about studying abroad could be realized later, I think my second and third dream will come true soon after that too. Perhaps they sound too high to reach, but I'm sure that nothing is too high to reach as long as what I do in my  effort to reach them is in God way and like His want.

In order to realize my great dreams I've had some plans to do. First, I'm going to study harder and keep my GPA high so that I can get scholarship. Second, I'm going to work before graduating. It's because I want to ease my parents' burden and get some experiences too. Moreover I'm going to try to make friends with foreigner as many as possible.

Well friends, that's about my great dreams which needed great effort too in order to realize them. For you who have great dreams, you must believe in yourself that you can realize them. You must also have one or more people who inspire your life so that you can always do more and more or at least do like they have done to be successful in their life. If you want to get much more than your right, you must also do much more than obligation.  Last, don't forget to keep praying to God, okay? :) Never give up!

MY UNFORGETTABLE FIRST NEW YEAR EVE IN JOGJA

December 31, 2009 was the unforgettable moment for me. It was my first new year eve in Jogja. It was unusual new year eve because there was a story hidden behind it. I’ll begin to tell you about it.

Some weeks before new year eve my friends and I had planned that we would celebrate new year eve together. I felt very happy because I wouldn’t be alone and do nothing at new year eve. Unfortunately when the day came, one by one of my friends told me that they couldn’t come because of some reasons. It made me disappointed and I felt that my first new year eve in Jogja would elapse without sense.

Apparently it was not only me who would celebrate new year eve by doing nothing but also two of my friends who live in my boarding house. They are mbak Senja and mbak Las. By the time we talked each other, mbak Las said that she really wanted to visit Malioboro because she had never been there. Aha! I thought it was a good idea if we celebrated the new year eve at Malioboro! Luckily mbak Senja also agreed about it and we began our destination to Malioboro! ^^

Because of the cost of getting on taxi is really expensive if we started from Gejayan to Malioboro, we decided to go there by getting on trans Jogja. We had to go to UNY first to reach the shelter. Then we three walked there from our boarding house. Unfortunately the shelter has just closed by the time we arrived. The woman who works there said that there would be no one trans Jogja which operated anymore because all ways to Malioboro had been closed. The time showed 8 p.m. at that time. Oh My God! Should we went back to our boarding house and canceled our plan? The answer was no. We decided to look for taxi around UNY. Minute after minute we waited, there’s still no one taxi passed. Then we walked step by step while looking for the taxi. We went and went on, and we’ve just realized that we’ve walked so far on foot. Do you know where have we been at that time when we walked on foot? We’ve been in front of Novotel near Galery Mall! Can you imagine that? We walked from Gejayan (Gg.Bromo) to Novotel on foot! It must have been crazy at that time, guys!

Fortunately in front of Novotel we found a taxi. After a quite long negotiation, the driver finally took us to Jl.Mangkubumi. We stopped near NOKIA care there because taxi hasn’t been able to Malioboro. For your information we just paid ten thousand rupiahs for taxi driver! :D

After that we began to walk again to Malioboro. Arriving at Malioboro, we felt so excited thought we’re tired. There were so many people there that would also spend the new year eve. I loved the situation at that time. Malioboro at night is so beautiful. We stopped to take a rest for a while. Some minutes later we went on walking to SO Satu Maret park where the show would be held.

We saw some traditional dances from some provinces, we listened to song entitled “Yogyakarta”, and we also prayed together for Alm.Gus Dur who just passed away at that day. The climax of that show is fireworks at 00.00 a.m. We really enjoyed it. At about 1.00 a.m. the event lasted.  However we couldn’t go back to boarding house because there wasn’t public transportation anymore. At last we spent some hours on our first day in 2010 at SO 1 Maret park. I thought that we have been like people who didn’t have house at that time. We used newspaper as a base for sitting on and even there were also some people who brought plaited for sleeping there. Finally at 05.30 a.m. we went back to boarding house by bus.

Oh…It’s really an unforgettable moment for me. It’s nice, ridiculous, and also tiring to spend new year eve like that. However my first new year eve in Jogja was really impressive! I LOVE JOGJA VERY MUCH! ^^

Every Day is A Busy Day

Hi friends, in my fifth posting I’d like to tell you about my daily activities. Unlike in the previous semester, in this semester I feel busier and more tired in doing the activities. Perhaps it’s because in semester two I take 25 credits while in the first semester I only take 21 credits. It causes the assignments I must do are also become more and more. Moreover, the schedule I get is also not in order in a day. However, I’ve known what the consequences if I take 25 credits.

From Monday to Friday I have classes in campus. On Monday I only have one class. It’s Pre Intermediate Listening class at 11 a.m. Therefore I usually wake up late about eight or eight thirty and then take a bath. After taking a bath I go to Bu RT’s food stall to have breakfast. From food stall I go to campus to have a listening class. My listening class usually finishes before 1 p.m. After the class my friends and I like chatting together first before going home or we usually go to the library just to get cool air while reading some books or magazine there. At three or three thirty we go home.

Arriving at my boarding house, I usually take a rest for a while, but not take a nap. After that I take a bath. Then I buy food for my dinner. I have dinner at 06.30 p.m. After having dinner I began to do assignments and prepare the lesson for tomorrow. I prefer study or take a rest in my bed room to gather in the TV room downstairs of my boarding house with my friends. It’s because the program they usually watch is different from my interest. They usually watch sinetron while I really want to watch western film on TV. However I’ll watch TV if there is FTV Jogja. That’s my favorite! I almost never miss it. If there is FTV Jogja, I usually sleep at 01.00 a.m. because the FTV starts so late. However generally I sleep at 10 a.m. after doing the assignments and study. It’s going on everyday.

For me, I have three most tiring days. They are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On Thursday and Wednesday I have three classes. On Thursday I have first class at 9 a.m., second class at 11 a.m., and third class at 1 p.m. to 3.40 p.m. because it’s Structure class that spends three credits. On Wednesday I have first class at 7 a.m. Oh I always don’t have enough sleep time at night before Wednesday and it makes me sleepy in first class. My second class on that day starts at 11 a.m. and my third class begin at 4 p.m. Do you know what my third class is? It’s Bahasa Indonesia class! What a boring class it is! I think you will be agree if I say that’s time to sleep when we have Bahasa Indonesia class at the time I tell you, right? On Thursday I only have two classes. However I say it’s a tiring day because the time range from first class to second is so long. Imagine, my first class starts at 9 a.m. while my second class starts at 4 p.m. To spend the leisure time, my friends and I usually go to the library to read some books or do assignments.

However, starting April 8 next week, my tiring days would be on Wednesday and Thursday only because Structure class is changed on Thursday at 11 a.m. It means that on Tuesday I only have two classes while on Thursday I’ll have three classes and the time range from one class to the others are not so long anymore.
On Friday I have three classes too and the first class starts at 7 a.m., but it’s not so tiring because the second class is book report and we don’t need to attend that class every week except at the submission schedule. On Saturday and Sunday I usually go to Vihara.

Well guys, that's about my daily activities. Though it seems so tight, tiring, and full I keep enjoying them because I do all my activities happily. I still can hang out with my close friends among those my full days.

SPECIAL DISH....

This is It! Empek-Empek Veggie Ala Tiara Queen!

Hi friends, do u know what the special food of Palembang is? That’s right! The answer is empek-empek. Empek-empek is usually made of Tenggiri fish and sago. However, empek-empek that I’m going to tell you isn’t made of Tenggiri fish. It’s made of potato!
Potato? How could it be? Well, for a vegetarian Tenggiri fish is changed with potato to make delicious empek-empek. Don’t you believe it? Let me explain it to you. Imagine you’re watching Ala Chef now and I as Chef Tiara is going to tell about the process of making empek-empek. Here we go! ^^
You will need 250 grams of potato, 300 grams of sago, 50 grams of flour, 2 eggs, a teaspoon of sugar, a teaspoon of salt, and a little seasoning. First, potatoes are boiled or steamed. Next the potatoes are mashed. Then flour is mixed into hot water and stirred till it’s like porridge. After that, the mashed potatoes, porridge flour, eggs, salt, sugar, and seasoning are mixed together. They have to be stirred until the mixture blended. Then sago is added gradually into the mixture until they forms dough which isn’t sticky and can be easily shaped. The very common type of empek-empek is lenjer whose shape is long and round. The next step after the dough is shaped is boiling them and let them cooked until they’re floating. It usually takes 20-30 minutes to boil them. After that, empek-empek lenjer is taken aside on the plate. You can eat it directly or you can also fry it then.
Empek-empek is much better served with dark liquid which is called cuko. It will make the taste of empek-empek more delicious. Therefore I’ll also explain you how to make cuko.
You will need 100 grams of palm sugar, 250 cc of water, 10 small chilies (cabe rawit), a little asam jawa, a little salt, sugar, and one jeruk kunci. First, palm sugar, water, asam jawa are boiled together. Then the chilies are mashed until they’re smooth. After that, the chilies are mixed into the boiling palm sugar water. A little salt and sugar are added into it. Then the squeezing of jeruk kunci is added into it too. Last, they’re stirred until they’re boiling.
Well, this is it! Empek-Empek Veggie ala Tiara Queen! It’s ready to serve with dark cuko! You wanna try? :D

MY BELOVED LECTURER IS ...

Friends, I'd like to tell you about my beloved lecturer. Actually I have admired the person from the first time the person taught us. Perhaps it's because the person has a similar name with my favorite football player's name.

Now  I'll  describe about my beloved lecturer's general appearance. The person has long straight black hair. The person always bunches the hair. The person is of medium height and weight. The person has dark eyes. Moreover, the person has freckle on the cheeks. The person  has thin  lips and  the person  always  gives  a beautiful smile for the students. Furthermore, the person always wears glasses.

Next, about my lecturer's characteristics. The person is very friendly and patient to students. The person always explains the material as clear as possible. Moreover, in my opinion the person is also a diligent lecturer. The person always corrects all of our assignments and gives them back to us so that we know which part of our assignments that's incorrect. The person always does that thing by color pens. Therefore, when some students get many corrections, the paper will be so colorful and our lecturer always says that the more colorful the paper, the more beautiful it would be hehehe....
Furthermore, this person likes updating status on facebook. The person likes giving funny comments to others, especially to the person's close friends who works as PBI lecturer too (one of them is our current Writing 2 lecturer hehehe...)

Have you got the person who I mean? If not yet I'll give you some more clues. This person got mastery in Arizona State University, USA. Actually at the first the person didn't want to take PBI because the person didn't like English. However, the person's father enforced the person to take PBI. By the time in learning English the person got so many difficulties, so the person studied very hard. As the result, this person who hardly to understand about English at first can be a very good and kind lecturer now.

I still remember what the person said to me and my friends at the first meeting of the person's class last year, the person said to us that it's okay to make mistake in learning English. The process in learning is more important than the result. The person really encourages and inspires me.

I like the way my beloved lecturer teaches us very much. Therefore, I want the person teaches me along the semesters. Unluckily, the person doesn't teach me this semester. Actually I'm little bit disappointed, but I hope next semester my beloved lecturer will teach me.

The last clue is this person has just got a "new role" as a MOM! ^^
I think it has been very clear, right?
So, my beloved lecturer is ****** ^^

GUESS WHO AM I?

I’m one of many places in Sanata Dharma University area. I’m a room with many desks and chairs but I don’t have either blackboard or whiteboard. I’m not too larger. I’m surrounded by glasses. I get enough sunlight. Therefore I’m quite bright. I’m at higher floor in the big building. The building where I’m now is the important place in every university and it helps students. The motto of the building is “We provide information to produce knowledge.”

I have some functions. Some students come to me just for talking with their friends. Some others come to read the books, magazines, etc. I’m also used as a hotspot area for some students. However, almost all of the students come to me for discussing lecturing assignments with their friends.

In addition, I have a strength that other rooms in the same building with me don’t have. Every student can speak loudly without worry disturbing others who are doing their work. It’s because I’m a soundproof room. .
Alright, I’ve given you some clues that can help you to find me. Now, have you got where I am? Who am I? Let’s find me!

ABOUT TIARA SHEVA

Hi friends, how do you do? Let me introduce myself. My full name is Tiara Tirta Sari, but just call me Tiara. Perhaps some of you ask why my name in my assignment title is Tiara Sheva whereas my full name is Tiara Tirta Sari. Yeah, actually Sheva is my favorite football player's name and I admire him very much. Therefore I put his name for my last name. I think it sounds nice, right? In addition, I prefer use Tiara Sheva to Tiara Tirta Sari for email address, facebook account, and other things that need to tell my name. However I'll keep using my original name Tiara Tirta Sari when I write down my name on lecturing assignments, tests, or job application.
Alright,  it's about my name and the origin of word 'Sheva' at my last name. Now I would like to tell you about myself. I was born in eleventh of October 1991. I’m a Chinese girl with slanted eyes and bright skin. I have long straight black hair. I’m 160 cm tall. I come from Lubuklinggau. Lubuklinggau is a small town in South Sumatera. You need about 8 hours to go to Lubuklinggau if you go there by train from Palembang. It's quite far, isn't it? In Jogja I live in a boarding house.
I have some hobbies. They are listening to music, doing cross word, and watching European football match. Maybe for my third hobby it’s still very rare for girls, but I love it. My favorite football club is AC Milan and my favorite football player is Sheva, like I’ve told before. Milan has been my dream land. I wish I could go there one day.
About my personality, according to my friends, I am a very kind girl even too kind because in their opinion I always positive thinking to others and care with my friends. However, I think the word ‘very’ and ‘too’ next to the word ‘kind’ is excessive to me. In my opinion positive thinking and caring to others are a must. By being positive thinking what a beautiful our life is. We can do many useful things in our life when we change our negative mindset be positive one. Don’t listen to other’s negative statements that can make us down and break our dream.
Moreover I’m a humorous person. I like making my friends laughing. Besides, I’m not typical person who’s getting angry easily. Therefore my close friends often make me as their conversation topic even they like “torturing” me. However, I know that they love me very much. ^^
Alright, I think that’s about me that I can share with you. Thank you very much and let’s make a friend! ^^
